Road Builder Adventures Strategy Guide

Pro-Level Advice

  • Get the excavator into position before you touch the dump truck controls, otherwise you'll be reversing a loaded truck around a half-dug trench, and that's never fun.
  • Cranes swing wider than they look. Give yourself extra clearance before lowering a load near anything you actually want to keep standing.
  • Tractors handle slopes way better than trucks, so if a level dumps you on uneven terrain, swap vehicles instead of fighting the physics.
  • Slow down before every turn. These machines aren't sports cars, and momentum will fling cargo off flatbeds if you're careless.
  • Watch the objective markers closely. Some levels want precision placement, not just "close enough."

The setup is simple on paper: you're handed a job site and a fleet of construction vehicles, and it's on you to turn empty dirt into finished road. Cranes lift, excavators dig, tractors haul, and forklifts shuffle materials around, and there's even a helicopter for jobs that ground vehicles just can't reach. Each level throws a fresh layout at you, sometimes a cramped city block, sometimes a wide-open arena, and the goal is always the same underneath it all — get the pieces where they need to go without wrecking the site in the process. It's less about speed and more about patience, honestly, since half the challenge is just lining up a bucket or a hook exactly right before you commit to the move.

How To Play

  • Use the arrow keys to steer and move whichever vehicle you've got active.
  • Switch machines depending on the task in front of you — don't try to force one vehicle to do another's job.
  • Line up carefully before lifting, digging, or dropping cargo, since these controls don't forgive sloppy positioning.
  • Take turns wide and braking early; tight, twitchy inputs tend to backfire on heavier vehicles.
  • Clear each stage's objective fully before rushing off to the next one, small leftover tasks can still block progress.
